text to speech - full body - iOS

François 8 years ago updated by anonymous 6 years ago 5

Hello,

Is there a code sample to be told by a full body avatar the word HELLO on iOS?

The full body of the avatar http://sitepal.com/fullbody/ page works fine on iOS.

An example of the code of this avatar?

With thanks.
François SCHAAL

My HTML code works fine on Android but not on iOS

Hello Gil,

I still have trouble understanding the superb Sitepal technology for mobile avatars.

When I launch http://sitepal.com/fullbody/ on iOS and Android, the avatar appears without reading text.
You must click on the avatar to begin> or curved arrow that most users are not going to guess.

A link type> CLICK ME <therefore seems to me essential that you have explained in the forum.

I launched http://www.oddcast.com/support/saytext_fullbody.html on:

Android: the text to speech flawlessly by clicking the link> CLICK ME <
iOS: the text to speech DOES NOT work by clicking on the link> CLICK ME <

My problem remains the iOS text to speech: it works with the URL http://sitepal.com/fullbody/
but not with http://www.oddcast.com/support/saytext_fullbody.html

An example of HTML code with the link> CLICK ME <that runs on iOS would be welcome !

Best regards

Bonjour Gil,

Cordialement

Hello François,

We are aware of the difference between behavior on iOS and on Android. The iOS Safari browser is more restrictive, and requires the user to interact with the character before enabling any API function to work. The Android browser seems to accept interaction with the page as sufficient.

We are considering adding an "activate" button on top of the character to make this clear. This button will appear only in iOS. What do you think of this possible solution?

Best,

Gil

Hello Gil,
An activation button when the avatar is iOS Safari is a good idea. It could also be displayed above the avatar with reduced opacity.
You may also detect if a “CLICK-ME” link type is present and use the button instead.
Care should be taken to the size of the button as, for example, to limit the avatars consumption data, I use a size of h = 100 and l = 57 pixels.

Bonjour Gil,

Hello Gil,

In the "Embed in Web Page" on Android, we should also find a solution because if I insert a link like> CLICK ME <, it does not stay near the avatar Full Body and moves along scrolling!

Best regards and good luck ...

Bonjour Gil,
