Is "using generated audio in a video" legal ?

VPHoang 5 years ago updated 5 years ago 3

Good morning,

I used OddCast demo to read-out-loud a short paragraph of English text (~ 20 seconds) 2 years ago.

I recorded generated audio (using QuickTime Player app on a Mac).

And now, I want to publish a video using those sounds, and I'm wondering if it's legal or not. I'm so panic since I know barely nothing about this copyright stuff.

Please help me answer this question. Thanks a lot.

Good voices, BTW.

Hello, and thank you for your query!

I'm afraid it is not legal to capture and use audio or video from our demos without a media use license.

If you are using the audio (or video) non-commercially - we would likely authorize such use at no cost. But for commercial use a paid license is required. Suggest you send a note to support@oddcast.com - and explain how the audio is used, and we will see what we can do & advise further.

Best regards,

Gil
