How do I design a Character to be used in a Scene?

Eva 13 years ago updated 13 years ago 1
faq how to characters help scenes customizations design
Answer
Eva 13 years ago
Within the Editor, select the desired Model from the "Models" Panel. Use the arrows to scroll through the list of available models. There are 2 tabs, one for 2D and one for 3D models.

Next, click Accessories and customize the Model you've selected. Different models offer different levels of customization, such as hair, glasses, outfit, hats, jewelry, facial hair, and more. Not all options are available for all models.

Follow the remaining steps and viola! You've just created a SitePal character!

Trying to get sitepla to call back regarding purchasing 3-minutes of avatar for media literacy documentary

Shannon Silva 12 years ago updated by Gil Sideman 6 years ago 4
Hi, this is for any sitepal employee, I have been leaving messages at sitepal for a few months now regarding the use of an avatar in a media literacy documentary, but cannot get anyone to call me back about logistics and cost. Any way that you can pass on the request to a salesperson at the company?
Answer
Gil 12 years ago
Shannon -
Yes - please send a note to sales@sitepal.com and we should get back to you right away. I'm very surprised we to hear we have not been responsive and I'd like to look into it. How did you leave us messages?

Jo Tummers 8 years ago in SitePal Silver updated by Gil Sideman 8 years ago 21

I recently got a safety certificate on my website. Due to that the SitePal characters don't work. How can I solve this? By the way I am curious to know why nobody answers if I send a personal message for help. This really annoys me, I am waiting for weeks but nobody seems to be interested to answer...

How to run Javascript inside AIML template

Hamed 11 years ago in SitePal Studio updated by Gil 11 years ago 1
Do you have an answer for this question:

I have run into an issue using AIML along
with a SitePal agent. Currently my AIML code accepts
some input. I than use Javascript to manipulate that
input as shown below. AIML than sends a response to
the SitePal agent.

help equation *

Based on this word problem here are the
values that you need to focus on

The problem I am having is that when the response is
sent back to the SitePal agent actually speaks the
javacode.
The agent will say "var equation ="star />"........

How know when mp4 is ready ?

gianfranco de villa 12 years ago updated 12 years ago 4
Hi Gil,
some time ago you have stated that, for mobile, Oddcast automatically convert flash video
into mp4.
This take some time. I have seen that the time taken varies from 1 to 5 minutes.
My question is: there is a mode to know when specified mp4 video is ready ? With some api or query...
If is possible I wonder the Oddcast server (a request every 2-3 seconds) until I get the "ready mp4", then I unlock the app on the mobile to proceed to view the videos.

This is possible ?

Thanks
Gianfranco

We will be adding this functionality - not via polling, but through a callback.
By setting a callback URL in your account - you would be able to receive notification each time video generation is complete, for any of your account's Scenes.
This update will likely require about 2 weeks before it is deployed.

let me know if this makes sense to you

Jo Tummers 8 years ago in SitePal Silver updated by Gil Sideman 8 years ago 1

I added a character which answers FAQ's. Unfortunately, the character does not load at all. This is the page where the problem occurs: https://jotiko.nl/webdesign/ I used the code that is meant for a site with a certificate (https://).

SitePals won't talk for me

Nathan Flinn 12 years ago updated by Gil 12 years ago 1
Whenever I load a page with one of SitePals, it doesn't talk. No sound, no lips moving on the screen. The head just follows my mouse around with its eyes. When my associates load the same page, it talks and the mouth moves.
Answer
Gil 12 years ago
Nathan -
First thing that comes to mind is 'playback limit' - did you by chance limit your playback to once per session / day?
Perhaps your colleagues are seeing the Scene for the first time - and thus are not affected by the limit.
If this is not the case please post a link to the page - I'll take a closer look.

Is Flash 10 Required?

Eva 13 years ago updated 13 years ago 1
We have just launched an update to our site which now includes SitePal characters. Some IE7 users with Flash 8 installed are reporting that the SitePal movie is forcing them to install Flash 10. Is there any way to change this behavior?
faq flash
Answer
Eva 13 years ago
The SitePal system requires that all users upgrade to flash 9.0 r115 or higher. For those who have an older version of Flash (less than 1% of visitors), SitePal displays a discrete "upgrade your flash" message & link in the space allocated for the character. This should in no way change or disrupt the appearance of a page.

At SitePal we have consciously stayed “behind” the curve, requiring a new version of Flash only AFTER it is entirely embraced by the market. For Flash player adoption stats and to learn more about version penetration, click here .
