Hi Joeseph,
This is perplexing
I tried it myself and could not immediately recreate this problem.
Try it out in our TTS demo for example - this uses sayText - http://www.oddcast.com/demos/tts/tts_...
If you could post a link to your web page where this problem is evident, I'll take a closer look.

The most common problem people encounter is not setting up their domain as a SitePal licensed domain.
Glad to hear the issue was resolved for you.

Hi John -
Thanks for pointing this out.
This is indeed an incorrect link pointing to our development environment - which was deployed by mistake - as part of a fix to this very problem.
We will deploy an updated fix first thing tomorrow.
Thanks for your patience.

The fix is in QA review. May take another day or two before it is deployed.

Please check the API reference document in the support section.
There is a long appendix listing exactly which SSML tags are supported by which engine.
In broad strokes - Nuance do not support SSML, but all other voices support more or less all major tags, with a few exceptions or syntax deviations.
As noted, check the API reference doc for details.

Looks like a bug on our end - this may take a few days to clear up, test and deploy. Thanks for your patience.

Works fine for me using the Bridget voice which you indicated. I also tried a bunch of other English language voices and could hear nothing wrong.
Something might be unusually wrong with your computer - for starters can you try another/ different computer?
let me know how goes
