SitePal not working on Windows Server

Michael Flynn 13 years ago updated 13 years ago 18
Would there be a reason why SitePal avatars wouldn't work on Windows Server 2008 or 2003 on any browser, but would work on client machines?
Answer
Gil 13 years ago
Michael -
That's correct - if the computer has no sound, the SitePal avatar should load but cannot speak.
The attempt to speak will not complete. "talkended" callback will not be reached. "progress" callback will be called but will stay at zero.

if you wanted to you could detect this situation by monitoring the "progress" callback - if it continuously returns zero values - that is likely due to no audio support.

btw - this situation is extremely rare - web applications are not often run on computers without audio support.

Hope this helps,
Gil

Maximum number of Audios reached.

John 13 years ago in SitePal Silver updated by Jesse 13 years ago 2
I have received a message "you have reached the maximum number of audios for your account, please delete one to add one ". I am on a silver package. I cannot see where there is a restriction on the number of audios allowed, I am well within my audio streams allowance. thanks.

Hi John,

You are absolutely right - there is no restriction on the number of audios you can create with your package. At the sane time, the system requires a numerical limit.

The number of audios you create is not related to your stream usage.

Please send a note to support@sitepal.com with your account info, and we'll be happy to increase the limit and allow you to create as many audios as you need.

Is there any way to override or figure out why I get 'Points improperly placed'?

Ferd 14 years ago in SitePal Gold updated 14 years ago 2
Is there any way to override or figure out why I get 'Points improperly placed'? My avatar is purposely distorted slightly wider than 'normal' human proportion due to the 3-D nature of the web page that it is placed on. It can tale a long time moving with the points until I get sitepal to accept the placement. For example, a dog face would have an odd nose to mouth placement as compared to a human, and it gets rejected.

Insert small pauses, change intonation?

jannr 12 years ago in SitePal Silver updated by Gil 12 years ago 1
How can I insert small pauses to make text-to-speech more lifelike? I have started adding commas (in places that shouldn't have them) to force a tiny pause between words, but I want to be able to pause longer between paragraphs. Also, it would help to have a way to subtly raise the intonation of the stressed syllable at strategic points, for emphasis or in questions. I imagine that the second request could be difficult, but not the first (pauses). Any suggestions?

Can I embed SitePal in a Wiki?

Publishing SitePal scenes requires the user to be able to add or edit HTML code to a web page. Many wikis don’t allow this level of access. If you can edit or add HTML code, you can embed a SitePal scene!
