Can SitePal talk to the viewer by name?

Is it possible for my AI 'bot' to ask for the user’s name, and then use this name in the conversation?

Answer

Yes! The AI bot recognizes a user's name if the user says: "my name is (name)."

You can program the character to start by asking: "What is your name?" If the user then answers as above it will work fine. To set up an initial audio for the character to speak, simply create and assign that audio to the Scene.

How can I play a sequence of scenes?

Hi -
There are two ways to go about it -

1. upgrade to Avatar Studio - which is our enterprise level product. Studio supports multiple Scene "Shows". Provides seamless playback of consecutive Scenes, i.e. preloading subsequent scenes and switching etc. No programming necessary.
to find out more - send a note to sales@sitepal.com

2. Implement a solution yourself using the loadScene api call.
This may or may not achieve the results that you are looking for. I used to have a code example that implements this functionality - but can't immediately locate. If I find it I will post it here.

Hope this helps,
Gil

Looks like our update was successful!
Glad to hear it.

Here's more info about what happened -
The problem was due to a bad configuration setting which was momentarily loaded to our live/production system yesterday - and immediately retracted. Although the change was pulled back, the problem setting became cached within the Akamai global network. And although we immediately purged Akamai, we apparently missed something...

Now cleared up.

Sincere apologies to all who were affected.

Got it.
The only way is to create a custom character for you. We do so frequently for our customers. I'm afraid there will be cost involved - as there is some work to be done.

If you are interested, please send a note to sales@sitepal.com

Sitepal Platinum API Malfunction and Billing Issue

fred lewis 14 years ago updated 14 years ago 5
We have an issue regarding payment. Back on the 25th I upgraded my sitepal account to the platinum plan, under the belief that I had a 15 day grace period to evaluate the new plan and to make a final decision. However I was only given 5 days to evaluate the plan because yesterday my credit card was billed for $249 for the platinum plan. Another issue is that the API offered by the Platinum plan is not functioning properly, so I'm in effect being charged for a sitepal component that is known to be malfunctioning.

We have encountered quite a lot of software bugs/malfunctions with your Sitepal service using both the Gold and Platinum plans from the beginning. For the time being, I would like Sitepal to reverse the charges to my credit card until the API is functioning properly and until we have had a full 15 day to properly evaluate the fully functioning API.

Cheers... fred lewis

Removing Avatar From Web Site

Al Stevens 14 years ago in SitePal Bronze updated by Jesse 14 years ago 1
how do i remove an avatar from my web site. I decided I do not like the floating version of it.

Answer
Jesse 14 years ago
Hi Al,

All you ever have to do to remove the avatar from your site is to remove (delete) the embed code that was used to embed the avatar.

If you'd like to change your SitePal scene, from a "floating" scene to an embedded scene (which is a scene that is inserted within your Web page, and not floating over it), you can do the following:

1. Log in to your account and go to the "Shows" tab.
2. Find your scene in your scene list and click "Publish".
3. Select "Embed in Web Page".
4. Choose "In-Page Embedding" and not "Overlay Embedding" - select "Click Here to Embed".
5. Follow the directions to get your code, paste the code on your page, where you'd like the scene to show up.

Good luck!

Voice goes out of synch with the avatar

valsassina tv 14 years ago updated by Gil 14 years ago 4
When the avatar is displayed in big format (e.g. 960x720), higher performance are required to the pc (on a lot of PCs the voice goes out of synch with the avatar).

Wizard voice over...

john 13 years ago updated 13 years ago 15
On your website you show characters and voice overs on them, but when you go the site, when you have logged in and after you have found out that everything costs more money.... it is not possible to see where these voice overs are kept!
In particular the wizard one!
Thanks for your speedy response!

Does your TTS privide Auto-Play Function?

Winstone Choi 11 years ago updated by Sumit 11 years ago 1
3. Third one is auto-play function. What I want to do with your TTS is to make a vocabulary learning system. So, I hope that those English words loaded onto our website can be read automatically without clicking each word. Can we do that? If so, does your API provide that kind of function? or Do you privide any special code with which our programmer can make that kind of function on our side?

Audio-video E-book publishing

Toruk Makto Tsuru 13 years ago in SitePal Studio updated by Gil 13 years ago 1
I am considering use of SitePal technology for publication of a dramatized audio-video e-book (37,000 words) that could be downloaded to mobile devices. This e-book would involve the use of multiple avatars and at least three dialects of English using text to speech technology. Does SitePal have production capabilities for such a project, and would you be interested in launching the next wave of e-book publishing?

Here is a link to current text version of the book I would like to convert into audio-visual format: https://www.createspace.com/Preview/1...
