PHP Based Avatar Responding Robot.
Hi, i wanted to implement a PHP base avatar talking site.
The students will have to type in the questions and then AI will get an answer and feed that to the avatar. Is this possible in PHP? How can i control this?
let say i have a php
i have a php with frame for example. the top frame is where the avatar is.
below are edit box and submit button.
Let say WHen student type in their question and click the submit button.
Avatar would then speak from that question.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Dondon

Dondon -
You define "licensed domains" in your "Account Info" section (after logging into your account select Account Info from the main menu)
You need to add any domain that you want your AI implementation to work on - for example - www.takibari.com
There is no need to add the path. Only the domain name.
Yes - you can use ip addresses, this may make sense for testing, if you need to access the site by typing an ip address into the browser address bar.
but is not necessary past the development stage - as end users will never access your site via an ip address.
btw - for the benefit of others reading this - specifying a licensed domain is only required if one is using dynamic TTS audio.

Facebook Message Playback Issue
Hi,
I published a scene to a Facebook message and when the recipient tried opening the link, it says "Sorry, this video cannot be played. Cannot play video." So, I tried on my phone and receive the same message.
Any ideas??

What "Length" can my audios be, is there a max time?
How "long" (in terms of seconds or minutes) can my audios be? I'm planning on doing newscasts and would need up to 5 minutes each.

Embedded on a domain that is not enabled in your account
"The scene is embedded on a domain that is not enabled in your account", i have added the domain correctly, like www.xxxxxx.com. Still it shows the error. Is the domain should get approved from sitepal fellas?

If you have setup the domain as a "licensed domain" under your "Account Info" page - then you should be all set.
From your description it sounds like you did what you should have done.
Can you post a link to the page where we can view the problem?
We will look into it and advise further.

PowerPoint to SharePoint functionality is broken.
I have embedded the talking avatar into a Power Point (2010) and saved this as a PPSX and PPTX (works flawlessly). Next I upload this to our internal company SharePoint, and the avatar becomes a black box and the fucntionality does not work. Is their a work around for this? The avatar was built in flash.

We appreciate your interest and totally understand the value of having this capability. We are looking at adding offline playback in PowerPoint in the future.
For the moment - if you must use the PowerPoint presentation offline - I can suggest a workaround -
capture each SitePal scene as a video, save it locally (mp4 format would probably be best), and import it to Powerpoint.
This will not require Internet connection for playback.
To capture & generate the videos, you could use any number of available utilities. We also have a built in "Video Export" tool in SitePal which generates a video of a Scene.
If you send a note to support@oddcast.com - and identify your account, we will add the video export feature to your account at no extra cost.
Hope this helps,
Gil

Dear Tiago -
I believe the problem is that you copied our example to your page, but did not replace our embed code with yours.
Consequently - your page is loading the example from our API Demo account.
If you configured the domain in your own account, then as soon as you swap in your own embed code it should start working.
Hope this helps!

Blurry Backgrounds
Hey guys. I notice that all background images are rendered blurry on my scenes. My scenes are 600x450, and any background image I upload, no matter the resolution, are rendered blurry. I also notice that all SitePal provided backgrounds are blurry too (i. e. http://www.xmarter.com/tibco-videos/t.... Is there a way to make the background sharper? Thanks.

Hi Jazon,
SitePal transcodes your uploaded background to an internal format & size to optimize bandwidth use on playback.
We have recently looked at tweaking this mechanism to improve the visual quality when the scene is displayed larger. An update will be implemented in the coming weeks.

Sitepal preview with local HTML files
How can I use the 'embed in web page' option with a local file (ie one where the html resides on a local drive - not yet published to the web). I can't seem to get the preview to work? Any options?

It sounds like your computer may be blocking the streaming content. I know that flashplayer sets this as a default to protect users from malicious attacks. If you go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/doc... and you should be able to lower security and make these interactions viewable.

What IE9 Settings Are Required For SitePal?
I recently reset my IE 9 Browser to its default settings. SitePal no longer works in IE 9 (although it works fine in Google Chrome). What settings need to be set within IE 9 for SitePal to work?

Glad to hear it.
Apparently Adobe have now isolated the problem - it only happens to a small subset of IE9 users - which is why they had not known about it.
For those users they recommend downgrading to the previous verstion of Flash.
I expect that this will be fixed with the next Flash update.

Hi Cynthia,
That's a good question. When you are logged in and editing your SitePal scene (when you are viewing the editor), take a look at Step 5 (Players).
In the Players step, you can choose from dozens of different players, which include controls, such as Play/ Pause, Mute, and Volume level. The players come in many shapes and sizes, but most of them have the same controls.
Note - after selecting the player, you can go to the Display Settings tab (up top) to customize the look of your player. Hope that helps!
