sayText() only says first letter

Eric Johannsen 12 years ago updated by Gil 12 years ago 7
When I call

sayText("This is the first sentence", 2, 1, 2, 'S', -0.5);

the text spoken is only "T".

When I add an ! to the end

sayText("This is the first sentence!", 2, 1, 2, 'S', -0.5);

the text is spoken normally.

Other sentences that I randomly try seem to work fine. Why doesn't this one?

How can I add audio to SitePal over the phone?

Eva 14 years ago updated by Karen Cote 14 years ago 4
audio features faq how to phone
Answer
Eva 14 years ago
We have two paths for recording audio by phone:

1. Online: Within the scene editor (the Audio step), select the Phone option and keep this open while you place your call. The on-screen window will follow your progress. Once your call is finished, you need to name the file and click the on-screen “Save” button.

2. Offline: Print the phone instructions from the scene editor, log out of your account and wait 5 minutes. You will be prompted for Scene ID so that we know what scene to assign the audio to.

Retrieving a scene created prior to purchasing Sitepal.

Seminary 11 years ago updated by Gil 11 years ago 1
I created a scene prior to purchasing SitePal. I was under the impression I would get the code once I signed up. I had a ten track scene which took some time to build. Is there a way to retrieve this work for use?

Controlling starting volume on scene playback.

Richard Faller 14 years ago updated by Gil 14 years ago 8
I have had this problem for some time now. Some of my visitors have contacted me say that the voice is to loud when they enter my site. I am looking for away to cut the volume down on start up. I was hoping by now that site pal would have a button somewhere when you put the audio in to adjust the volume. Lets say soft, medium and load to choose from.

I am thinking that people are clicking the back button when they get on my site because of this. That clearly is not good. I have been a customer for around 5 years. I hope that it will be another 5.

Thank you
Richard Faller

default loud settings start-up volume
Answer
Gil 14 years ago
Richard -
Your observation is correct. The default volume is in fact set to 100% (and not 50% as I indicated).
To allow you the flexibility you are looking for, we will be introducing a new scene setting "default volume" which will allow you to set the default volume for your Scene. This implementation has been placed on our development schedule - it will be several weeks before it is available.
For an immediate solution, you can use the Javascript code noted above.

Answer
Eva 14 years ago
It depends on your package. SitePal currently offers several account packages:
Bronze: the most basic SitePal account. SitePal Bronze includes most features, such as all base models (60+), all backgrounds (250+), up to 2 domains, and more. Bronze does not include SitePal’s text-to-speech function.
Silver: As one of the more popular packages, SitePal Silver includes Bronze's features, as well as more audio streams, Photoface model creation, Text-to-Speech, SitePal’s functional players, the ability to publish scenes to eBay auctions, and more.
Gold: Probably the most popular SitePal account, SitePal Gold includes all of Silver's features, as well as even more audio streams, access to the Artificial Intelligence technology feature, full API support, Flash integration, the ability to remove SitePal branding, and more.
Platinum: This is SitePal’s highest-tier package available on our website. SitePal Platinum includes all Gold features, as well as more audio streams, access to all base and specialty models (250+), unlimited domains, server API, advanced asset management, and more.

If you are looking for even more advanced features, you may contact our sales team.

How do I send phonetic representations directly?

Horia 12 years ago updated by Gil 12 years ago 2
I need to create a phonetic tutor and it requires word fragments which can't be specified using plain English.

I tracked one of your voices to NeoSpeech and they document ( http://bit.ly/UTNmzt ) a phonetic API to the voice.

Using < vtml_phoneme> they specify phonetic representations to pe spoken, directly.

How do I use this feature in SitePal?

I can't keep my avatar in place

Jim Cook 14 years ago updated by Gil 14 years ago 4
My avatars are (suppose to be) confined to a small html box. This week my avatars are placing themselves into the upper left corner of my browser screen outside the html box they are suppose to be in. This is only happening on my machine. On other machines in our office, the avatars are in in the box they are suppose to be in. Any ideas??
